Overlooked Women in American History

Historian Gary Midkiff joins us on a Monday afternoon to talk about 9 women you probably have not heard of – but each of the 9 broke barriers and made our country better. One risked her life to improve conditions for immigrants sailing to Ellis Island. Another stood her ground when voting her conscience in the U.S. House of Representatives. The History of Willie Nelson

Willie is the face, heart, and soul of country music, and he's still going strong! He released his 74th album in 2023 and turns 91 in April 2024! Using interview and performance clips, music historian Gary Wenstrup will trace the arc of Willie's career from his humble beginnings in small town Texas to his struggles in Nashville to his shift to Outlaw Country to his now legendary status, and we'll cover all the big hits.
